HOW TO DISTINGUISH FABRICS?

This kind of fabric can be knitted, woven with different thickness, fineness, weight so it is used in making most kind of clothes. Cotton is the most favorite fabric because it is suitable for all body shapes and is well-adapted to any kind of weather.
Advantage: Durable, quick-drying, hygroscopic, sweated, cool, bring comfort to user.
Harder and thicker than other fabrics. Usually used in sewing safety workwear, corporate uniforms, school uniform, hospital uniform… There are two type of khaki: elastics and none-elastic.
Advantage: rarely creasy, easy for laundry, fastness.
Derived from TC fibers – fiber mixed between Cotton and Polyester.
Advantage: Sweated, smooth, easy for laundry.
How to recognize elastic fabrics?
Component: 100% cotton
Cotton fabric origins from cotton yarn. When people know how to grow cotton tree, waiting for the cotton fruit to bloom and they go pick raw cotton yarn home, bleach, twist into yarn and spool to make clothes.
Later, the textile industry applied this achievement into manufacturing cotton trousers and cotton T-shirts. Following the development of science, they similarly harvest from the cotton tree, but they process, bleach more and add some substances to reduce the musty time of the fabric.
Cotton is a synthetic fabric made from many natural material and chemical substances. It is popularly used in garment because of its superior features such as: sweated, variable, dry fast, and durable.
Features: hygroscopic, sweated, cool, bring comfort to user.
Disadvantage: expensive, hard, dry, prefer by male. People fix this disadvantage by adding spandex yarn to make the smooth which brings sexy curves to female customers.
Elastic fabrics: 65/35
Component: fibers mixed from 35% cotton and 65% polyester.
Features: because it is added nilon yarn (poli), it is hotter, less hygroscopic but smoother than cotton. Quite cheap, average quality, usually chosen by customers who not really care about quality. In order to make it more elastic, they mix them with spandex fibers.
PE elastic fabrics: Polyester
Component: 100% polyester
Features: the cheapest price, none-hygroscopic, hot, ruffled.
How to distinguish linen?
Burn some fibers to find the difference
Cotton fibers: burn fast with the yellow flame, smell like when burning paper, dark grey ash.
Silk: burn slower than cotton fiber, the filament is clotted, smell like when burning hair.
Wool: ignition is not fast, fuming and forming foam, then clump together, with slightly iridescent color and crisp black, melt immediately when strangled. Burning-hair smell.
Visco fibers: ignite quickly with yellow flame, burning- paper smell, very little dark ash.
Acetate Fibers: flowering flame combustion, ignite slowly and drops dark brown plastic when burnt, not caught fire, then quickly coalesced, easy to crush.
Polyamide fibers (nylon): Not causing flame when burnt but capital back into droplets and white plastic, with the smell of celery, when converted into local cold hard light brown, hard to crush.
